Terriers win; Mils fall in shootout on Saturday Night

The Yorkton Terriers won their 3rd game in a row as they scored 4 goals in th 3rd period to beat the Weyburn Red Wings 5-3.  

Tayler Thompson, Tyler Giebel, and Brady Norrish all had 1G 1A to lead the way while Kailum Gervais and Jordan Ross had the other markers for the Terriers. 

Kale Thomson stopped 25 shots for the win in goal. Yorkton's next action will be Tuesday when they host the Humboldt Broncos from the FAA.

The Melville Millionaire comeback fell a little bit short as Eric Meyer scored with 26 seconds left to force overtime but then Blake Young would get the shootout winner as the Battlfords North Stars beat the Melville Millionaires 5-4.

Allen Kilback led the way for the Mils with a 1G 3A, while TJ Reeve (1G 1A) & Colin Mospanchuk (2A) had two points each. Defenceman Alec Brandrup also chipped in with a goal for the Mils.

Isaiah Plett stopped 37 of 41 shots in a losing cause.

The Mils will visit Wilcox to take on th Notre Dame Hounds on Tuesday night. GX94 will broadcast the game with Yorkton Dodge Junior Hockey, starting with pregame 7:50, play by play at 8:00
