Local Track Athletes compete at Western Canadians

The 2016 Western Canadian Midget & Youth Track and Field Championship was held in Regina on July 29- 31^st at the Canada Games Athletic Complex.

There was 9 athletes from Yorkton and area that made team Saskatchewan that competed in it.

The top athletes from our area did fantastic at the next higher meet above the high school provincials.

-       1,500m Steeplechase= 2^nd @ 5:23.43

-       Javelin= 3rd @ 30.21m

Dami Ogunbiyi

-       100m= 1st @ 11.38  (Ranked 38^th in Canada for U18)

-       4x100m Relay= 2^nd @ 47.03

-       200m= 1^st @ 23.56

-       400 Sprint Medley Relay= 4^th @ 4:09.91

** Dami will be travelling to St. Therese Quebec on Aug 5^th for the national Midget Track & Field Championships.

** Kelsey also hits standards for 800m at Youth national Track and field championships.
