Stamps' Flanagan commits to University of Toronto

 The Swan Valley Stampeders are pleased to announce the commitment of 1993 born forward Max Flanagan to the University of Toronto Varsity Blues. 

Max joins the Varsity Blues following a Junior A career in Swan Valley and was assistant captain for the Manitoba Junior Hockey League Stampeders in this past season. Max tallied 66 points last season for the Stampeders, which ranked him first on the team, and 3rd  in the league.

 “We are thrilled that Max has successfully been recruited to the University of Toronto, as that was the University he most wanted to attend.  Max is a great example of what dedication to the sport of hockey can result in, having started in Jr. B in the KIJHL before joining the Stampeders 2 seasons ago.  Max was a treat to watch and a great player to coach, I wish him luck moving forward.” Stampeder Coach Petersen stated.

"I am so excited, U of T is the #1 place I wanted to go.  I am so grateful for the opportunity to play in Swan Valley, everyone from the best billet family in the world, the fans, my team mates, to the hard working management/coaching staff has treated me so well. I will never forget my time in Swan River.” said Max.

 2013-14 Lorne ‘Windy’ Lyndon Trophy for Hockey Ability-

The Stampeders wish to thank Max for his contributions in the Valley, and wish him the best of luck in the future, playing for the Varsity Blues and studying Science/Pre Pharmacy.
