The Yorkton Terriers took the latest instalment of the Highway 10 battle beating the Melville Millionaires 4-1 on Friday night at the Farrell Agencies Arena.
The Terriers got on the board first as Jared Legien would take a nice pass across and bang home his 13th of the season to give the home team an early 1-0 lead. They would make it 2-0 lead with 1:18 left in the opening frame as LJ Naccarato (pictured above) would go top shelf on Brandon Wells for his 2nd of the year on the power play to make it a 2 goal game after 1 period with shots even at 12-12.
Mckenzie Welke would add to the Terrier lead just 7:56 into the 2nd as he would get his 9th of the season to make it 3-0. Then just 1:33 later, the home side would make it 4-0 as Quin Hobbs would deflect home his 2nd of the season. The Mils would add one before the 2nd buzzer could go off as Mitchell Torrens would capitalize on a nice 3 on 1 rush and bang home his 2nd of the year but after a scoreless 3rd, thats as close as the Mils would get.
Nathan Hargrave was once again solid in the Terrier goal making 32 saves on 33 shots while Brandon Wells made 26 saves in the losing cause.
The two teams will go right back at it on Sunday afternoon at the Horizon Credit Union Center in Melville. pregame 1:50 pxp at 2PM on GX94 with Yorkton Dodge Junior Hockey.

The Swan Valley Stampeders closed out 2016 with a 6-2 loss on the road to the Neepawa Natives.
Tanner Koroscil and Josh Martin scored for the Stamps while Connor Slipp made 38 saves in the loss.
Reigan Buchanan led the way for Neepawa with 2 goals and 2 assists.
The Stamps are back at it on Tuesday night when they visit the Virden Oil Capitals at 7:30 from Tundra Oil & Gas Place.
