Henley's strong outing leads Melville to 5th straight victory


The Melville Millionaires scored three runs in the first inning on route to a 7-2 win over the Moose Jaw Miller Express. 
 
This is an important series for both teams as Melville is chasing Moose Jaw for the final playoff spot in the Eastern Division.  After tonight’s action Moose Jaw holds down fourth place with a 16-18 record. With the win, Melville has now won five straight games and improved to 11-22 
 
Cole Warken had two of Moose Jaw five hits on the night. 
 
Austin Stokes, Melville’s lead-off hitter, had two hits, an RBI and a run scored. Mason Furlong and Keaton Sullivan also chipped in with a pair of hits each. 
 
Tanner Emes was the Moose Jaw starter, he lasted six innings after allowing four runs on six hits. Zach McDonald and Mitchell Price came on in relief. 
 

Melville starter Cole Henley (pictured above) made his second WMBL start and it was a dandy. The sophomore from Barton Community College pitched eight complete innings giving up two runs on four hits.  He also had a walk and six strikeouts.  Henley gave way to Thomas Halcomb who got the final three outs for the Millionaire victory.
