Terriers drop 3rd straight falling 7-4 to Weyburn on Tuesday Night

The Yorkton Terriers suffered their 3rd straight loss on Tuesday night, losing 7-4 to the visiting Weyburn Red Wings at the Farrell Agencies Arena.

The Red Wings would come out with a pretty good opening road period and they would strike first as Carson Rose would one-time home his 15th of the season to make it 1-0 Red Wings just 5:30 in. Landon Walters would make it 2-0 at the 15:17 mark as Landon Walters would make a nice move and put home his 5th of the year. Then with just 30 seconds left and just as their power play expired Tyran Brown would jam home his 13th to give the visitors a 3 goal lead at 3-0 after 1 period with shots being 18-9 Red Wings.

The Terriers would get off to a very quick start to begin the middle frame as just 23 seconds into the 2nd, Kronau product Jordan Ross would bang home his 11th of the season to make it 3-1 Red Wings. It would stay like that until 1:42 left to go in the 2nd and it would be Landon Walters' once again as he would take a big bounce off the end boards and slip it by former Red Wing Nathan Hargrave for his 2nd of the night to restore Weyburn's 3 goal lead at 4-1 after 40 minutes with shots (10-9 Weyburn in the 2nd) & 28-18 Red Wings in the shot department after 2 periods.

Landon Walters' would complete the hat trick, his 1st in the SJHL very early into the 3rd period to make it a 5-1 Red Wings lead. Jared Legien would then score back to back for the Terriers 12:23 apart in the 3rd, his 19th and 20th of the season to make it a 2 goal lead at 5-3. But the Red Wings would come right back and regain that 3 goal lead as Erik Olson's long shot would beat Hargrave for his 5th to make it 6-3. The Terriers would once again get a little closer as Reid Anderson's long point shot pinball off a Red Wings' defender and by Carter Phair, for his 3rd of the campaign to make it 6-4 Weyburn. Carson Rose though would ice it into the empty net with 8 seconds to go to help the Red Wings win their 2nd straight, with the 3 goal win.

Carter Phair made 30 saves for his 4th win of the season in Red Wing net while Nathan Hargrave turned aside 32 of 38 shots in the losing cause.

The Terriers are back in action on Friday night for a neutral site game in Fort Qu'Appelle at 7:30 when they battle the Notre Dame Hounds at the Fort Rexentre.
