Foucher makes 26 saves to lead Stampeders to road victory over Waywayseecappo

The Swan Valley Stampeders earned their 15th victory of the season as they moved into 4th place in the MJHL standings after a 4-1 victory over the Waywayseecappo Wolverines.

It didn't take long for the Stamps to strike as Luke Beerman would snipe home a PP goal just 97 seconds into the 1st period to make it 1-0. The Stamps would add their 2nd power play goal of the period late in the first as Mattias Dal Monte's shot would provide a rebound in front and Trevor Schroder would mop up the loose puck and shove it home for his 10th to give Swan a two goal lead after 20 minutes.

The Stamps would add to their lead with a couple late goals in the middle frame. First up it was Tommy Cardinals making a nice defensive play back at his own blue-line and then going in alone on a short-handed breakaway and making no mistake for his 8th goal of the year to make it a three goal game.

Josh Beauchemin would make it 4-0 on penalty shot with just 1:06 left in the 2nd for his 5th of the campaign.

The Wolverines would get on the board and get the only goal in the 3rd off a powerplay goal from Anthony Bilka but that's as close as they would get.

Mikael Foucher captured his 9th win of the season after stopping 26 shots in the Stamps' goal while the Wolverines' split goaltending duties with Thomson Phinney allowed 2 goals on 15 shots while in relief Liam Tereposky made 17 saves on 19 shots.

The Wolverines' will go right back at it on Friday night when they visit the Virden Oil Capitals while the Stampeders' looking for their 3rd straight win will host the Portage Terriers on Saturday night.
