Terriers grab 8th Highway 10 battle over Melville to capture Parks Cup

 MILLIONAIRES 1, TERRIERS 4

The Yorkton Terriers snapped their 2 game losing streak on Friday after a 4-1 victory over the Melville Millionaires to capture the Parks Cup.

The two teams would exchange late goals in 1st as first Regan Sweeney rifled home his 1st SJHL goal to make it 1-0 before Nicolas Samson responded with 25 seconds left in the period to pull the visitors even through 20 minutes.

In the 2nd, just 42 seconds into the period Tanner Sklaruk notched his 7th of the season as off a Kishaun Gervais shot, he jumped on a rebound and put it by Alexis Giroux to regain Yorkton their 1 goal lead at 2-1 through 2 periods.

The Terriers added some insurance in 3rd with a couple more markers off the sticks of Sklaruk (8th) and Steven Norum (6th) to help pace them to victory.

Kael DePape made 24 saves on 25 shots for his 13th win of the season, while Mils' G Alexis Giroux made 36 saves in the loss. 

The Mils were slated to meet the Battlefords North Stars on Saturday but that has been postponed, so their next game will be next Saturday when they host the Estevan Bruins.

Yorkton returns to action on Saturday when they host the Humboldt Broncos.

Titans 5, Stampeders 2

The Swan Valley Stampeders had their 4 game winning streak come to an end on Friday night after a 5-2 loss to the Neepawa Titans.

Austin Clyne and Cameron Trimble each scored twice for the Titans who got a single from Camden Smith in the win. 

Deepkaran Hans and Nic Roussel replied for the Stampeders who got 23 saves from Kobe Grant in the loss. 

The two teams will meet once again on Saturday in Swan River at 7:00PM.
