Kunitz; Falk win Stanley Cup & Calder Cups over the weekend

 


The Pittsburgh Penguins are now the NHL's best for the fourth time.

The Pens won their 4th ever Stanley Cup after a 3-1 win over the San Jose Sharks last night (Sun) in Game 6 of the Stanley Cups finals in California.

It's also the 3rd career NHL championship for former Melville Millionaires, Yorkton Maller and current Penguins forward Chris Kunitz (pictured above left).

The 36 year old Regina product who played with Melville from 1997-99,  previously won a Cup with the Pens in 2009 and the Ducks in 2007.

Also over the weekend a former Swan Valley Stampeder helped his team to an AHL Calder Cup Title.

Snowflake, MB product Justin Falk (pictured above right) helped the Lake Erie Monsters to a series sweep over the Hershey Bears in the American Hockey League championship series.

Falk, played one year with Stamps as a 16 year old back in 2004/05.
