Millionaires and Wolverines are winners on Saturday Night

Melville product Carter McKay's 1st SJHL goal held up to be the game winner as the Melville Millionaires earned their first win of the season a 4-3 decision on Saturday over the Yorkton Terriers.

Zach Cain also scored twice for the Mils, while captain Jonathan Krahn chipped in with a goal of his own.

Tanner Sklaruk (1G 2A) and Kishaun Gervais (2G 1A) led the Terriers' offensively with 3 points each.

Mils netminder Jared Thompson made 31 saves for his 1st SJHL win, while Kael DePape turned aside 20 shots in the loss.

The Moneymen return to action on Tuesday night when they host the Weyburn Red Wings, while the Terriers battle the Humboldt Broncos on home ice on Friday night.

WOLVERINES 8, STAMPEDERS 6

The Waywayseecappo Wolverines completed the weekend sweep of the Swan Valley Stampeders with a 8-6 victory on Saturday night in Swan River.

Luke Robson and Troy Hamilton led the Wolverines with 2 goals each while Lonan Bulger, Mi-Kwan Tallman, Boston Bird and Kobe Campbell also scored.

The Stampeders' were led offensively by Cody Barnes who recorded his 1st career MJHL Hat-Trick, while Jamie Valentino also scored twice and Myles Mason chipped in with a single.

Liam Tereposky made 28 saves on 34 shots in the win for Wayway, while Stamps' G Kobe Grant stopped 49 shots in the losing cause.

The Wolverines will return to action on Friday night when they visit the OCN Blizzard.

Meanwhile for the Stampeders', they return to action on Friday night as well when they host the Neepawa Titans. GX94 will broadcast the game with the pregame show starting at 6:50PM and the play by play getting underway at 7:00PM MB time.
