Wolverines; Stamps both fall on Friday Night

The Waywayseecappo Wolverines went into the Christmas Break on the wrong foot as they gave up a 2-0 lead as they fell 3-2 to the visiting and Addison Division leading Winnipeg Blues on Friday Night.

The teams would exchange chances in the first period but they would remain scoreless after 20 minutes of play.

Brett Pinkerton got the first two goals for the Wolverines in the 2nd period his 13 and 14th goals of the season and the Wolverines had an early 2-0 lead but the Winnipeg Blues would quickly reply with 2 goals of their own less than 2 minutes apart by Joel Schreyer and Jake Heisinger and that made it 2-2 after 2 periods of play.

The Winnipeg Blues would take their first lead of the hockey game with only 2:29 to go in the third as Kyle Bodnaruk would get the game winner for the Blues as they defeated the WayWay Wolverines 3-2

Cory Simons was really good despite taking the loss stopping 32 of 35 shots while Blues Goalie Isiah Plett stopped 15 of 17 shots for the Win.

The Wolverines will go into the Christmas Break in 5th place in the Sherwood Division and they will return to action on Saturday January 4th when they visit the Dauphin.
