The 2016 Crescent Point Energy Western Canada Cup wrapped up over the weekend in Estevan with 2 two teams clinching RBC Cup berths.
The BCHL Champion West Kelowna Warriors clinched the 1st berth with a 6-0 victory over the Brooks Bandits in the Western Canada Cup championship game on Saturday night.
The Bandits then shook off that loss and doubled the defending National Champion Portage Terriers 2-1 on Sunday to clinch the West's 2nd berth.
Jeff Mallott and Josh McKechney scored for the Bandits in the win. Former Swan Valley Stampeder Braydon MacDonald scored for the Terriers in what was his final Jr. game.
So the field for the 2016 RBC Cup has now been determined:
Lloyminster Bobcats (Host)
West Kelowna Warriors (West #1)
Brooks Bandits (West #2)
Trenton Golden Hawks (Central)
Carleton Place Canadians (East)
The 2016 RBC Cup National Tournament gets going this Saturday in Lloydminster, Alberta.
