Wayway Wolverines drop 5th straight, 6-3 in Dauphin

The Wayway Wolverines fell in their 5th straight game on Tuesday night, 6-3 to the Dauphin Kings at Dauphin's Credit Union Center

The Kings would control much of the 1st half of the 1st period and they would strike first as Brett Piper would hammer home his 2nd goal in as many nights to give the Kings an early 1-0 lead. The Wolverines would answer back rather quickly at 7:23 of the 1st as Trevor Kavanaugh would hammer home his 5th of the season on the PP to tie it up at 1-1. The Wolverines would then take their first lead with 4:01 left in the first frame as Dylan Tanner would deflect home his 2nd of the campaign to give Wayway a 2-1 lead after 1 period with the Wolverines leading in shots 14-13 after 20 minutes.

In the 2nd period, the Kings would draw back even as Daniel Chartrand would make a nice move around Hunter Lorenson and sneak home his 4th of the year with assists to Matt Bartel and Matthew Greening to make it a 2-2 game after 40 minutes with shots edging the Kings 24-23.

The two clubs would come out and get two goals (one aside) in the first 1:50 of the 3rd period as first off Ludvig Adamsen would snipe home his 1st goal as a Kings just before Landyn Cochrane would answer just 15 seconds later to make it 3-3. The home squad would then storm back with 3 unanswered goals off the sticks of Graeme Hore, Matthew Bartel and Riese Gaber to vault them to their 5th win a 6-3 home decision over Waywayseecappo.

Former Wolverine Brandon Holtby made 25 saves for the win for the Kings while Hunter Lorenson in a losing cause turned aside 27 shots.

The Wolverines return to the ice on Friday night when they visit the Steinbach Pistons at the T.G Smitch Center at 7:30
