The Melville Millionaires Jr. A Hockey Club of the Saskatchewan Junior Hockey League are accepting applications for the position of Assistant Coach.
This is a full time, seasonal position.
The successful applicant must have excellent communication and organization skills as well as be able to work both independently and in a team environment.
Responsibilities/Duties for this position include, but are not limited to the following:
- Assist head coach in preparing and delivering daily practice plans both on-ice and off-ice
- Assist in the overall operations of the team
- Lead try-out camps recruiting effort and make sure they are well ran and organized
- Mentor and develop leadership skills among the players
- Assist in video breakdown for team sessions, individual player sessions & player promotion
- Assist in game day operations
- Attend all practices and games both home and road
- Assist in maintaining equipment and inventory
- Attend player meetings and video sessions throughout the year
- Assist in team and individual player goal setting
- Statistical tracking and analysis
- Participate in community outreach
- Other tasks as they arrive
Desired Qualifications:
- Playing experience at the Junior and or Pro levels
- Coaching experience at Major Midget or higher
- Respect in Sport
- Development I/II and or High Performance I
- Familiar with Gamebreaker
- First Aid and CPR
- Criminal Record Check
- Proficiency with MS Office applications, including Excel, Word and Outlook or Mac equivalents
