Mils; Stampeders earn victories in Jan. 26th Local SJHL/MJHL Recap



SJHL 

The Melville Millionaires snapped their 7 game losing streak on Saturday night after a 5-3 victory over the La Ronge Ice Wolves.

The line of Luke Spadafora (1G 2A), Damian Bentz [pictured above] (1G 2A), and Josh Borynec (1G 3A) combined for 10 points to lead the Mils offensively. Luke Nkwama and Jacob Bourchier also scored for Melville.

20 year old Colby Entz made 27 saves on 30 shots to earn the victory in goal.

The Mils who still remain in share of the final playoff spot in the MJHL standings with Weyburn, will return to action on Wednesday night when they host the Kindersley Klippers.

MJHL 

After a 2-1 loss to Winkler on Friday, the Swan Valley Stampeders rebounded on Saturday night with a 4-1 victory over the Flyers.

Josh Tripp (pictured above)  had 1G 2A to lead the Stamps while Landon Johnson (1st MJ goal), Campbell Balk and Brian Harris also scored for Swan.

The Stampeders return to the ice on Tuesday night when they host the OCN Blizzard with puck drop at 7:30 from the Centennial Arena in Swan River.
