Swan Valley wins big at home; Terriers fall short on home ice in Jan 29th Local SJHL/MJHL Recap




In the MJHL,

The Swan Valley Stampeders got a 4 goal performance from Alexander Uryga (pictured above) that led them to a commanding 11-3 win over the visiting OCN Blizzard on Tuesday night.

Brad Goethals (1G 3A) & Quintin Sudom (4A) also chipped in with 4 point nights while Brian Harris scored twice & Jaden Townsend, Frank Zhong, Troy Quinn and Josh Tripp chipped in with singles.

Michael Davis turned aside 29 of 32 shots to earn the victory in goal for Swan.

Dodge Long, Nolan Dawson and Talon Thomas replied with goals for the Blizzard.

The Stampeders outshot OCN 65-32 in the game.

Swan Valley will look for their 3rd straight victory on Wednesday night when they visit the Dauphin Kings. GX94 will broadcast the game with Yorkton Dodge Junior Hockey, pregame show kicks off at 7:20, pxp begins at 7:30 from Credit Union Place.

The other game scheduled in the MJHL between Winkler/Winnipeg was postponed.

In the SJHL,

Tyler Traptow scored the GWG just 6:35 into the 3rd period to lead the Kindersley Klippers to a 4-3 victory over the Yorkton Terriers at the FAA.

Devon Cyr, Austin Nault, and Blake Kleiner also scored for the Klippers while Zach Johnson made 40 saves to earn the win.

Cole Keenleyside scored twice for Yorkton in the loss while Colby Brandt had the other.

Ryan Ouellette took the loss in goal turning aside 38 of 42 shots.

The Terriers' next game will be on Friday night when they host these same Klippers. "Sask Milk" pregame show begins at 7:20 on GX94 with Yorkton Dodge Junior Hockey.

Kindersley will head down Highway 10 to continue their road swing on Wednesday night against the Melville Millionaires.
