2017 World Under 17 Hockey Championships in Dawson Creek, BC

Yorkton's Nolan Maier stopped all 28 shots he faced for the shutout, backstopping Canada Black to a 1-0 win over Canada White in the opening game for both Sunday at the 2017 World Under-17 Hockey Challenge.
Alex Beaucage scored the lone goal for Black, which ended a three-game preliminary-round losing streak to White.

Yorkton product Kaedan Korczak had an Assist on the lone goal.

Canada Black back in action tonight (Mon) when they battle the Czech Republic

The Swan Valley Stampeders are now winners for 2 of the their last 3 games after a 4-3 win over the Selkirk Steelers on Sunday afternoon.

The Stamps got out to an early 4-1 lead on goals by Jake Besnilian, Jaden Townsend, Noah Basarab and Sam Harris but the Steelers came back with a couple by Brady Castellano and Nathan Halvorsen but thats as close as they would get.

19 year old Brett Evans made 35 saves in the win for Swan.

The Stamps next game will be on Wednesday night when they host the Virden Oil Capitals. GX94 will broadcast the game with Yorkton dodge Junior hockey, pregame 7:20 pxp at 7:30.
