Stampeders pull into tie for division lead after victory in Neepawa

 The Swan Valley Stampeders pulled in to a tie for the MJHL’s West division lead on Friday night after a 5-4 comeback win over the Neepawa Titans.

Jakob Jones opened the scoring in the 1st for Swan, while Adam Rajsigl, Darius Makse, Justin Keck and Alex Walicki (GWG) paced the 4 goal third period en route to the win.

Hayden Stocks scored twice for the Titans, while Brayden Michalchuk and Carter McLeod chip in with singles.

Stamps’ G Kobe Grant made 45 saves to earn his 10th win of the season, while Mason Lobreau turned aside 26 shots in the loss.

The two teams will meet once again on Saturday in Neepawa.

Elsewhere,

The Waywayseecappo Wolverines dropped a 3-2 road decision to the Niverville Nighthawks.

Josh Paulhus and Braden Panzer led Niverville with 1G 1A each while Brendan Bottem also scored.

Andrew Boucher and Carson Baptiste supplied the offence for the Wolverines.

Chris Fines was solid for the Nighthawks making 31 saves on 33 shots, while Tresor Wotton turned aside 25 shots in defeat.

The two teams play the back end of their home and home on Saturday in Waywayseecappo.

In the SJHL,

The Yorkton Terriers dropped their 3rd straight losing 7-0 in Melfort against the Mustangs.

Zac Somers and David Rioux scored twice for the Mustangs, who got singles from Ben Tkachuk, Dawson Leroux and Kevin Minnoch.

James Venne earned the shutout for Melfort making 28 Saves.

The Terriers return back home for Teddy Bear Toss and First Reaponders Night hosting the Flin Flon Bombers starting at 7:00PM.

Meanwhile,

The Melville Millionaires dropped their 3rd consecutive game, losing 5-2 to the Flin Flon Bombers.

Dawson Karol had 2 markers for the Bombers while Cole Duperreault, Alex Avon Sprecken and Alexi Sylvestre also twinkled the twine.

Former Bomber Ethan Anstey had 2 goals for the Mils against his former team, while Cooper Chisholm and newcomer Sam Schofield had 2 assists each.

Kenneth Marquart stopped 46 of 48 to get the victory for the visitors, and Mils goalie Clem Labillois made 36 saves in the loss.

The Millionaires return to action on Sunday afternoon in Nipawin
