Martens 1st SJ Hat Trick leads Terriers over Ice Wolves

The Yorkton Terriers (13-7-0-1) overcame an early 2-0 deficit to defeat the La Ronge Ice Wolves 6-3 to salvagev 2 out of a possible 4 points on the 2 game Northern road trip.

Patrick Martens led the way including his 1st SJHL Hat Trick and an assist, his 8th, 9th and 10th goals of the season. Nathan Murray, Dylan Johnson and Brenden Poncelet add the others. Austin Bourhis added 2 assists from the backend. Goalie Dawson McAuley got the start and stopped 22 of 25 shots to get the victory for the Terriers who improved to 2nd place in the Sherwood conference.

The Terriers return to action on Friday in Weyburn before hosting Flin Flon on Sunday at 6;00 on "Terry Bear Toss" at the FAA.

The Melville Millionaires snapped a losing streak of their own with a 3-2 victory over the Estevan Bruins. Kyle Scaber his 1st Mils and SJ goal, Russell Trudeau and Sean Aschim scored for the Mils. Alex Wakaluk got the start and the victory for the Moneymen .

The Mils will visit the Nipawin Hawks on Friday night.

While in the MJHL, the Swan Valley Stampeders got two goals from thereigning MJHL Player of the Week Garrett Johnston as they went on to defeat the Dauphin Kings 5-2 on Wedneaday on home ice: Colin Baudry, Mitchell Eisenberg and Justin Valentino with the other Stamps markers. Landon Noel 26 saves for the victory as they improved their record to 13-8-0-1, 1 point ahead of Dauphin for 2nd in Sherwood division.

Swan returns to action on Friday when they visit the Neepawa Natives, 7:20/7:30 on GX94
