Local Weekend Junior A Recap


SATURDAY 

The Melville Millionaires dropped their 2nd straight overtime decision after they fell 5-4 to the Weyburn Red Wings.

Ben Hiltz scored the game winner with 38 seconds left in the extra frame.

Max McPeak, Nic Porterfield, Luke Nkwama, and Booker Chacalias scored for the Mils while Hunter Adams made 34 saves in the loss.

The Mils will return to action on Wednesday night when they host the Battlefords North Stars from the Horizon Credit Union Center. Puck drop at 7:30

FRIDAY 

The Swan Valley Stampeders handed the Waywayseecappo Wolverines their first loss on Friday night, defeating them on home ice, 4-1.

Frazer Dodd led the way for Swan with 1G 1A while Luke Beerman, Leyson Coleman and Nathan Carl chipped in with singles.

Tyler Leibl scored the lone goal for Wayway, in his 1st game as a Wolverine.

Michael Davis got the start for Swan Valley and made 25 saves on 26 shots in the win while Liam Tereposky turned aside 21 shots in the loss.

The Stamps will return to action on Monday at the MJHL Showcase in Winnipeg when they take on the Dauphin Kings.  GX94 will broadcast the game from the Seven Oaks Center, joining the game in progress at 7PM MB time.

Meanwhile for the Wolverines, they kick off their showcase also on Monday against the Winnipeg Blues.
