Mils' F Porterfield named SJHL's Rookie of the Week
2001 F Nic Porterfield (Calgary AB) got his SJHL career off with a bang by ripping 6-goals and 2-assists in 4-games as he helped the Mils get off to a 2-1-0-and-1 start.  Porterfield has scored in each game so far this season, but his breakout performance was Wednesday night against Weyburn when he scored three times as part of a five point night.  He also scored in back to back games against Yorkton to open the season as well as this past weekend in a loss to Melfort.

Meanwhile Mils D James Philpott was a runner-up for SJHL Defenceman of the Week
