Terriers drop to 1-2 after road loss in Estevan on Tuesday night

The Yorkton Terriers dropped their 2nd straight on Tuesday night, a 4-2 decision on the road to the Estevan Bruins at Affinity. Place

The Bruins would get on the board at the 12:16 mark of first as Tyson Manz's shot would produce a big rebound that would come up high in the air in the crease area and it would be batted home by 20 year old Devon Cyr for his 1st of the season to make it 1-0.

Then in the final minute of the first they add another as Austin King-Cunningham's long point shot would get re-directed home by youngster Griffin Asham-Moroz for the Winnipeg product's first SJHL goal to give the Bruins a 2 goal lead after 1.

Shots were 17-10 Bruins.

The Terriers would respond from the deficit in a big way in the 2nd as Carson Henry would get the visitors within one just 6:05 in as his wrist-shot would beat Keenan Rancier short-side for his 2nd of the young season to make it 2-1.

Then just under 9 minutes later, Henry would see a trailing Kurri Woodford coming late into the Estevan zone & find him and the Littleton, Colorado would make no mistake going top-shelf to make it even at 2-2 after 40 minutes.

After a back and forth start to the 3rd the Bruins would break through to get the eventual game winner with 2:24 remaining in regulation as Eddie Gallagher would be left wide-open in front and his snap shot would squeak through the glove of Terrier G Phillipe Bond and into the back of the net.

Jayden Davis would seal the game with an empty-netter with 40 seconds left to help the Bruins improve their record to 1-1.

19 year old Bruins net minder Keenan Rancier stopped 23 of 25 shots to earn his 1st victory in the SJHL while fellow 19 year old Phullipe Bond in the Terrier cage made 31 stops in the loss.

The Terriers will look to snap their 2 game slide on Friday night when they entertain the Notre Dame Hounds on Friday for a 7:30 puck-drop. Don't forget to get your tickets at www.yorktonterriers.com
