Stampeders; Wolverines victorious in Sept. 4th Local SJHL/MJHL Preseason recap


Stampeders 6, Bombers 3
The Swan Valley Stampeders earned their 2nd straight preseason win on Wednesday night after firing 6 2nd period goals en route to a 6-3 victory over the Flin Flon Bombers.

Parker Johnson (2G 2A) and Trevor Schroder (2G 2A) led the way with 4 points each while Jamie Valentino and Frazer Dodd chipped in with singles.

Carson Close made 27 saves on 30 shots to earn the victory for Swan Valley who'll host the back half of the home and home series with the Bombers on Thursday with puck drop at 7:30PM MB time from the Centennial Arena in Swan River.

Neepawa 2, Waywayseecappo 3
Dylan Soosay scored twice to lead the Waywayseecappo Wolverines to a 3-2 home victory over the Neepawa Natives.

Xavier Halterman had the other marker for Wayway.


Terriers 3, Red Wings 6
The Yorkton Terriers dropped their first road preseason match-up on Wednesday after falling 6-3 to the Weyburn Red Wings.

Ryan Ries, Riley Egan and Chase Gallant scored for the Terriers while Kael DePape and Phillip Bond split the duties in goal.

The Terriers will go right back at it tonight (Thurs) when they host the Waywayseecappo Wolverines at 7:30PM MB time from the Farrell Agencies Arena.
