C. Norrish plays hero as Terriers defeat Mils in Overtime

Yorkton Terriers Defenceman Chase Norrish (pictured above) was the hero as he got his hat-trick goal just 18 seconds into the overtime period as the Yorkton Terriers defeated the Melville Millionaires on Sunday night.

The teams would try and shake the rust off in the first half of the 1st period then the Mils Brennan Ritchie would walk in from the blue line and put it bar down on Kale Thomson for his fifth goal of the season and that gave the Mils a early 1 goal after 1 period of play.

Terriers would tie it up as C. Norrish would score 2:23 into the 2nd period his 4th to make it 1-1, but just 18 seconds later Allan Kilback would reply back for the Mils his 1st of 2 on the night and his 4th goal of the season to regain the Mils 2-1 lead. Just over 5 minutes later it would be
Kilback again his 5th goal of the season to increase the Mils lead to 3-1. But at 9:06 of the 2nd Patrick Martens would get his 17th goal of the season for the home team and then 2:12 later Austin Bourhis would take a pass from the slot and made no mistake for his 3rd goal of the season to make 3-3 after 40 minutes.

Daniel Orsborn would give the Millionaires the lead once again at 6:18 of the 3rd his 4th goal of the season but with 5:02 remaining the 3rd C.Norrish would get his 1st of 2 shorthanded goals and 2nd goal of the game to tie it back at 4-4.

In the overtime period, Patrick Martens was dinged with a 4 minute High Sticking double minor just 8 seconds into the Overtime, but just 10 seconds into the Mils Powerplay, Norrish would steal it at his own blueline and put it short side on Alex Wakaluk for the Overtime winner.

Kale Thomson made 19 saves in the Terrier goal for the victory, while despite being tagged with the loss Alex Wakaluk was outstanding keeping the Mils in the game all night long as he stopped 41 of 46 shots.

These two team will do it all again on New Years Day (Tues) in Melville at the HCUC at 2:00, make sure you try and make it out for the game which is going to be a dandy but if you can't pregame show 1:50, play play at 2:00 on GX94 or listen live at gx94radio.com
