Thoughts from the Box:
-The line of Ian McNulty, Russell Trudeau and Michael Sagen were lethal all night and then when Froese was inserted in he didn't miss a beat.
-Sagen has shredded some pounds and added some muscle and looks like a man to reckon with this year.
- Taylor Thompson and Tyler Giebel could be a duo that could provide firepower for the Terriers offense.
- The best player on the ice for the Terriers in my opinion was Zac Majkowski. The returning forward is a going to be the leader of the Terriers club
- Even if it is pre season in typical Highway 10 rivalry Fashion, there was some bad blood between the 2 clubs which included a scrap or wrestle match you can say between two skilled players in Taylor Thompson and Ian McNulty
-Still a few question marks on the blue line for both teams as there are spots open on both clubs. But a man who could lead the Mils blue line Landon Hall had a very solid and good game and even notched 2 goals, both coming on the Powerplay .

The Mils will continue their Pre-season tomorrow in Way Way against the Wolverines while the Terriers will be Action Sunday also in Way Way.

Little Time Off

There won't be much traffic on the blog or twitter until Tuesday of next week, as I will be heading up to Humboldt for my brother's wedding which is on Saturday and then will be heading to Saskatoon for the Canadian Country Music Awards.

Melville Millionaires will begin their training camp on Friday morning while our other 3 local Junior A teams will continue their preseason action beginning tonight as Swan will travel to take on the Dauphin Kings. Yorkton will return to action tomorrow as well when they travel to Swan River to take on the Swan Valley Stampeders and the Way Way Wolverines will play host to the Portage Terriers tomorrow night.

So I will be back in full force starting Sept 11th and will be hockey and sports mode for the next 7 months and ready for the start of the hockey season.

A veteran laded Yorkton Terriers won their preseason opener defeating the Way Way Wolveines 6-3 at the Farrell Agencies Arena.

**Thoughts from the Box**
-Jeremy Johnson, Jamie Vlanich and Curtis Oliver were the best players on the ice for Terriers looking dangerous throughout the night.
-Wolves boasted a all-rookie squad , but Robert Breim (95) can fly out there , and showed he can score goals notching 2 of Way Way's 3 goals. Also Everett Bird was impressive and did a lot to try and earn a spot.
- On the Terrier side , Kelby Minshull looks solid on the blue line, he's calm with the puck and could fit well on the Terrier blue line as he fits the mold of McMullen and the Norrish Twins

The next preseason action for the Yorkton Terriers will be in Swan Against the Stampeders on Thurs , while the Way Way Wolverines also continue on Thursday when they host the Portage Terriers

Terriers Orange and Black Game Recap

The Yorkton Terriers held their annual Black and Orange Game at the Farrell Agencies Arena, while the game started out very slow on the offensive side, 3rd period full of goals and it lifted Team Black to a 5-3 victory over Team Orange.

**Thoughts on the Game**
*Veteran goalie Kale Thomson looked very calm and solid in his one period of work, and so did '93 born goaltender Austin Buzzell who could be battling for spot on the hockey team

*The line of Brenden Poncelet, Nathan Murray and Dylan Johnson (brother of veteran forward Jeremy Johnson) had a great game combining for 7 points. Murray looked big and strong as a returning 20-year old and he had a goal and 2 assists tonight.

*'96 born Carson Cayer also impressed me tonight, he was dangerous all night and scored a nice goal and added an assist for Team Orange.

*Returning defenceman Chase and Brady Norrish, along with Devon McMullen looked steady and solid on the back end and should anchor a very, very solid Terrier Blue-line
