Former Mils' Kunitz captures Olympic Gold
The Canadian Men's Hockey team captured their 2nd straight Gold medal yesterday morning by defeating Team Sweden 3-0 and former member of the SJHL's Melville Millionaires was a member of that winning team.
Regina native and 34 year old Chris Kunitz who scored in the Gold Medal game was alongside Sidney Crosby and Patrice Bergeron on Canada's Top line.
Kunitz spent 2 seasons with the Millionaires in '97/'98 & '98'/'99 where he compiled 87 goals and 59 assists for 146 points in 123 games including a 57 goal season in the 1998/99. He would then spend 4 seasons with the NCAA's Ferris State Bulldogs. He is currently a member of the NHL's Pittsburgh Penguins.
