Martin's 33 save shutout helps Mils even series at 1-1, with a 3-0 win in Nipawin.

The Melville Millionaires were able to put together a good rebound effort in Game 2 on Saturday night as they blanked the Nipawin Hawks 3-0 to even their Best of 7 SJHL Quarter-Final at 1-1.

The Mils would be able to keep their good pace going through the whole opening period and they would be able to convert with the powerplay as Tyson Predinchuk would bat home his 1st of the postseason to give the Mils a 1-0 lead after 1 period. Shots 15-9 Mils

In the 2nd, the Mils would start off that period much better than they did one night ago as just 2:50 in, Dalton Menke would jam home a powerplay marker to make it a 2 goal lead for the moneymen. It would stay like that until Greyson Reitmeier would take a nice feed in the left circle and go top shelf on Joe O'Brien for his 1st to give Melville a 3-0 after 40 minutes. Shots after 2, 26-24 Melville.

In the 3rd, the Mils would go into lockdown mode as they were able to keep the Hawks offence at bay and there would be no more scoring happening in the 3rd, to give the Mils a 3-0 road victory over Nipawin.

Mils netminder Trevor Martin (pictured above) stopped all 33 shots he faces for his 1st SJHL playoff shutout while Hawks goalie Joe O'Brien make a total of 30 shots in a losing cause.

The Best of 7 Quarter-Final series, is now tied up at 1-1 with Game 3 going on Sunday in Melville. GX94 will broadcast that game as well with Yorkton Dodge Junior Hockey, pregame 7:20 pxp at 7:30 from the Horizon Credit Union Center.
