=================================

Analysis: These two former Sherwood division rivals will do better once again in the post season, this time in a battle to try and grab one of the 2 remaining berths into the MJHL playoffs.

For the Wayway Wolverines they have saved their best play to the end as at one point in the season were 10 points behind the Kings for 8th place, but with a very strong February they were able to catch them and overtake Dauphin by a point to get home ice in this Best of 3 series.

For the Wolverines going in, the first question will be what kind of line up they will have for Game 1, goaltender Mitch Wiebe who has been outstanding all season hasn't been able to play in the last 4 games due to injury but it looks like he should be ready to go for Game 1, if not Brandon Holtby has showed over the past couple weeks to be a capable go to. Also MJHL Rookie Team member Rylee Zimmer, who is a key member of that top line with George Spilchal, and Robert Briem has been in and out of the line up and his status is still up in the air for the series.  Speaking of Spilchal, he has been on fire all season leading the Wolverines with 25 goals and 57 points all season but also the Wolverines will need some depth scoring from all 4 lines, great goaltending and their special teams to keep clicking to be successful in the post season.

For the Kings, there is plenty of turnover from last years club that made it all the way to the RBC Cup Semi-Finals. Actually looking back to the beginning of the year, Tyler Garrioch was only regular remaining but he has since been dealt to the Steinbach Pistons. The Kings have been lead offensively by rookies Chance Thomas and Mathieu Lapointe who have been a dynamic all season. 20 year old rookie dman Ben Hull is the 3rd top scorer on this Kings team with 37 points, 17 of them goals (11 on the PP). Also former Wolverines Drake Bodie who missed most of the first half of the season has returned and is getting stronger and stronger. While between the pipes, Troy Martynuik has played most of the games this season, but as of late local product Connor Shaw has carried the load going 5-2 in month of February to help him win MJHL's Goalie of the Month.

So all in all, whenever these two teams battle whether its preseason, regular season or post season its always tight, exciting and some fun hockey to watch and I'm sure we can expect more of the same this time around as well.
