Canora Cobras complete sweep of defending champions to capture Sask East Hockey League title
The Canora Cobras were able to dethrone the defending champions en route to their first ever Sask East Hockey League title.
Carter Dereniwsky and Logan Foster each had two goals, one assist to lead the Cobras to a 5-3 Game 3 over the Rocanville Tigers on Saturday to complete the three-game sweep.
Captain Ryley Stefanyshyn scored the other marker for Canora with 12:15 left in regulation which stood up to be the game winner.
Tayler Thompson (2G 1A) and Jordan Robertson (1G 2A) replied with three points each for the Tigers in the loss.

Peppler scored the game winner just 1:37 into OT to lead the Foam Lake Flyers to a 7-6 win over the Wilkie Outlaws to complete the two-game sweep and capture their first ever Senior Provincial championship.
After the Outlaws took the lead with 3:59 remaining, Taylor Fisher tied the game for the Flyers with 38 seconds left before Peppler’s heroics.
Travis Mayan also scored twice for the Flyers, while Rylan Parenteau made 41 saves on 47 shots in the win.
The Flyers will now shift their focus to a league title and a possible double-banner season as they will host the Drake Canucks for Game 3 of their Best of 5 Long Lake Hockey League Final next Friday night with that series tied 1-1.
