Stamps fall to Valentino & the Kings on Sunday Night

The Swan Valley Stampeders lost their 3rd straight on Sunday as they fell to their former Captain Justin Valentino and the Dauphin Kings 5-2.

The first period would be one that the Stamps would like to forget as they were outplayed by the Kings and the score would show it as goals by Jesse Bernard, Cameron Whyte, Jared Morris, and Brayden Cuthbert would give the Kings a 4-0 lead after 20 minutes.

The 2nd frame would be a little more better for the Stamps as they would provide a little more offence and they would pot the only goal of the period and it would be Jagger Thomas hammering home a loose puck for his 2nd goal of the season to make it a 4-1 Kings lead after 2.

In the 3rd the Stamps would have chance after chance but couldn't convert much past goalie Michael Stilliadis until the final minute when Max a Flanagan tipped home his league leading 26th goal to make it a 4-2 deficit, but it was just Too little too late as Mitch VanTeeling would add a late one to make it a 5-2 a Dauphin final.

Stilliadis stopped 26 for the win in goal while Stamps goalie Nathan Armstrong stopped 40 of 45 shots in a losing cause.

The Stamps will play their final 2 games before the Xmas at home hosting Virden on Friday and the Steinbach Pistons on Saturday night.
