The Yorkton Cardinals needed a superb pitching performance to keep their 2015 season alive and that's what they got on Tuesday night.
Portland, Oregon product Codi Scanlon (pictured above) threw a complete game 4-hit shutout while striking out 5 batters to lead the Cards to a 2-0 victory over the Regina Red Sox in Game 3 of their first round Western Major Baseball League series.
John Whaley provided all the offence that the Cards needed with a 2 run double in the Bottom of the 8th inning.
Yorkton will look to stay alive for the 2nd straight night as they host the Red Sox tonight in Game 4 at 7:05 from Jubilee Park. Red Sox lead Best of 5 series, 2-1.
