28 year old Springside product Chad Nehring (pictured above) has earned an invite to training camp for the NHL's New York Rangers next month.
"It's exciting, it's kind of a lifelong dream and at one point when you think it's unreachable then you keep working hard and when finally the hard work pays off I'm very excited for the opportunity", the former Yorkton Terrier said.
Nehring is also excited that he will be attending camp with another local product in Jarret Stoll who signed a 1 year deal with the Rangers earlier this summer.
"Ya I reached out to him by email, and he was pretty much one of my mentors through my pro career and just watched how he takes big face-off & how he plays his game and tried to mold my game around him."
Nehring spent most of last season with the Rangers AHL- affiliate the Hartford Wolfpack where he compiled 4 goals & 12 points in 53 games. He also suited up in all 15 of the Wolfpack's playoff games in their run to the Calder Cup Finals.
Spoke with Nehring about the off season, the camp invite and last years run to the Calder Cup Final
