Terriers; Stamps lose. Mils snap La Ronge's long point streak on Friday

The Yorkton Terriers dropped their 2nd straight game while allowing Humboldt to snap their 8 game losing streak in the process, losing 4-3 to the Broncos on Friday night.

The Terriers for the 2nd straight night were able to get the first goal on the power play as Shane Sherban would take it away from Broncos' goalie Ryan LaRochelle and would wrap it around into the open net for his 7th goal of the season just 4:57 in to make it 1-0 for the visitors. But the Broncos would respond with a power play of the own at 9:52 of the first as Connor Swystun's point shot would beat Jakob Severson for his 4th to tie things up at 1-1 after 20 minutes. Shots advantage for the Terriers at 10-6.

The Broncos would grab their first lead of the night just 3:08 into the middle frame as Josh Roberts would be awarded a penalty shot and he would make no mistake over the right pad of Severson for his 2nd of the season to make it 2-1 for the home team.  It would stay like that until late in the 2nd when they Trevor Posch would slip home his 5th of the campaign with just 2:52 left to give the Bronocs a 3-1 lead after 40 mins. Shot clock after 2 period, 18-17 Broncos.

In the 3rd period the Terriers would be able to cut the deficit within one once again as Carson Welke would get his 2nd goal in as many nights as he would go top shelf on Larochelle for his 7th to make it 3-2. But just a short time later, Jarrett Fontaine would finish off a nice passing play from Trevor Posch and get his 9th to regain the Broncos 2 goal lead at 4-2.  But the Terriers would once again come back with an answer, another PP goal as Paul Savage seeing-eye snipe job would get past the Bronco goalie to make it 4-3. But thats as close as the visitors would get despite a flurry of chances late, the Broncos were victorious 4-3 over Yorkton.

Ryan LaRochelle making his 1st start back since being re-acquired back from Winkler to Broncos, he was impressive stopping 27 shots while Jakob Severson made 19 saves on 23 shots in the loss.

The Terriers will now have a week off before heading out on the road next Friday for a 3 games in 3 night roady starting in Flin Flon against the Bombers.
