Mils fall 2-1 at home to Notre Dame

The Melville Millionaires had their short 2 game winning streak snapped as they fell 2-1 to the visiting Notre Dame Hounds.

The Mils came out flat in the 1st and Brandon Millin made them pay as he scored his 14th goal on the Powerplay to give the Hounds a 1-0 after 1.

The Mils would pick up their play in the 2nd and had some glorious chances but couldn't beat Ty Reichenbach and it was the Hounds getting the only goal as Brandon Millin got his 2nd of the game to give Notre Dame a 2-0 lead after 40 minutes.

But the Mils would make a game of it early in the 3rd as Sean Aschim on a scrabble play got his 12th of the season but that was as close as they would get as the Hounds held on to move 3 points ahead of Melville for 2nd place in Sherwood.

Alex Wakaluk stopped 24 shots for th e loss, while Ty Reichenbach stopped 25 out of 26 for the win.

Mils Powerplay was 0/4 while ND was 1/4

The Mils record drops to 16-10-0-2 and they will host Kindersley on Saturday night ----------
While in Swan River, the Swan Valley Stampeders had their 4 game win streak snapped as they fell 5-3 to the OCN Blizzard.

  1. Time for a coaching change, Fiesel can't seem to figure out how to get his guys to play, great GM but a horrible coach!!!

  2. how much more talent do you want on a team? |They should be hands down way above everyone else. Thats what I like about trent, he can take an average team and make them perform. How many teams in this league roll 4 lines?

  3. This is the year, the Mils need to go all in, and Jamie Fiesel is NOT the guy to take them to the promised land

  6. Depending on who you talk to there is anywhere from 1 to 3 players going to La Ronge next year to complete the Boyer/Richie deal. So one or all of Trudeau, Mospanchuk and Reeve could be gone. Doesn't leave a whole lot after that. And it will be Fiesel's last year on his contract. At the present pace he is going to be hard up for an extension unless the team makes some serious noise in the playoffs but right now they are a power play, penalty kill and transition game away from even having a chance.
