Stamps shutout Neepawa to clinch 3rd in Sherwood

The Swan Valley Stampeders came into the hockey needing 2 points to capture 3rd and that's what they got as they shutout the Neepawa Natives 3-0.

Dylan Hykawy would open the scoring half way through the opening frame to give the Stamps a 1 nothing lead.

Both teams would exchange chances In the 2nd period but neither team would get a marker and it was 1-0 Stamps still after 40 minutes.

BJ Avery would make it 2-0 Swan while Kyle Smart would ice it with an empty netter to give the Stamps a 3-0 victory and 3rd place in the Sherwood and a matchup with the OCN Blizzard in the 1st round of playoffs.

Landon Noel stopped 34 shots for his 1st shutout of the season while Matt Kohlman stopped 40 shots and was very solid but was tagged with the loss.

The Stamps have 2 games remaining on schedule including Friday when they host the Neepawa Natives at 7:30. Pregame 7:20, PXP at 7:30 from the Centennial Arena .
