Stamps' Uryga commits York Lions (USports)

The Swan Valley Stampeders are pleased to announce that forward Alex Uryga has committed to play with York University in Toronto, ON for the upcoming season.

The North Vancouver, B.C. native made stops with the Kelowna Rockets (WHL), North Van Wolf Pack (PIJHL), Alberni Valley Bulldogs (BCHL), Polonia Bytom (Poland), and the Olds Grizzlys (AJHL) playing in 90 games, scoring 31 goals and adding 28 assists.

The Stampeders acquired the 6’2”, 200-pound forward from Olds on November 3, 2018 by former Head Coach and General Manager Barry Wolff, and would become a dominant player for the organization.

The 20-year-old Uryga dressed in 42 regular season games with the Stamps` scoring 15 goals and adding 19 assists. He would add another 17 points in 17 playoff games during the franchises best post season in history.

The Swan Valley Stampeders continue to provide a great platform that allows our players to stay focused and committed to their long term goals of making it to the next level.
