Millionaires' win streak snapped at three with road defeat in Estevan

The Melville Millionaires' 3 game winning streak came to an end on Monday afternoon after a 4-3 road to the Estevan Bruins at Affinity Place.

The Bruins got on the board first just 5:47 in as Keegon Little capitalized on some sloppy defensive zone play from the Mils and tucked home his 1st of the season to make it 1-0.

Then just over 3 minutes later they made it 2-0 as Ilya Chmelevski took a nice feed in front Brendan Hunchak and beat Mils' netminder Ethan Rau far-side for his 2nd at the 8:50 mark of the 1st frame.

The visiting Millionaires got off to a hot start in the 2nd as 8:57 in, Brendan Olson finished off his 2nd of the season to make it 2-1 then just 3 minutes later, Flynn Maxcy went top-shelf over the left shoulder of Cam Hrdlicka to pull the Mils even.

But the great 2nd period got put to a halt as Owen Barrow notched home another powerplay goal with just 1:42 left in the middle frame to regain Estevan a lead at 3-2 through 2 periods.

The Bruins regained their two goal lead with 7:41 left in regulation as after a scramble in front,Felix Allard tapped home the eventual game winner to push it to 4-2.

The Mils got one late in the final minute on the powerplay as Colby Ball's point shot snuck through but that's as close as they would get.

Bruins' G Cam Hrdlicka made 29 saves on 32 shots to earn the victory while Ethan Rau in the his first start in the Mils' crease made 28 stops in the loss.

The Millionaires return to action on Friday night visiting the Yorkton Terriers for the first Highway 10 battle of the regular season, while Bruins entertain the Flin Flon Bombers on Friday night.
