Wolverines fall in Game 1 3-2 to Dauphin

The Wayway Wolverines without their top scorer Russell Turner put in a very good effort but fell in Game 1 3-2 to the Dauphin Kings.

Connor Faupel and Tanner Butler got 1st period goals for the Kings and took a 2 goal lead into the 2nd period.

In the middle frame thought just 1:33 Ito the 2nd period , Kyle Threndyle would get the Wolverines on the board wripping a snap shot past Jeremy Pominville for his 1st of the playoffs to make it 2-1. But just a few minutes later the Kings would regain their 2 goals lead when Ryley Miller whipped it into the wide open cage to make it 3-1. WayWay though would cut it to within 1 late in the 2nd as Brenden Luschinski would get his 1st of playoffs to make it 3-2.

Lots of good chances both ways for Dauphin and Wayway especially for the Wolverines on a lengthy 5 on 3 but Pominville stood tall.

Pominville stopped 22 shots for the victory while Brenden Fiebelkorn stoppe 32 shots in a losing cause.

Kings up 1-0 in series, Game 2 Sunday night in Wayway.
