Analysis:

In a series that could only go for a possible 3 games, but at the end it could feel like a 7 game series as two of the hardest working teams in the league battle in MJHL Survivor Series.

These two teams have entered the postseason kind of the opposite as the Wolverines have won 2 of their last 3 and got points in their last 3 games which included a 3-1 W over Swan Valley in the season finale on Thursday while the Stampeders have dropped their last 3 heading into the postseason.

Between the pipes is where this series could be won. Stamps' goaltender Zach Degraves has been very solid between them since coming over from the Melfort Mustangs in the off season and has been one of the teams MVP this season. But also Game 1 will be just his 2nd game back since returning from injury that kept him out for a couple of weeks. For the Wolverines, their goaltending has really come on as of late and its no surprise that as both Troy Martyniuk and Greg Harney have played better that the team has started to get back into the win column.

Up front, the Stamps have been led all season by rookie Josh Tripp, whose 47 points helped him get named to the MJHL's All-Rookie team. Tripp, alongside fellow local product Cody Ellingson they need to continue to produce offensively and maybe even turn it up a notch for the Stamps to be successful. They also need some secondary scoring from Colton Brausen, who is having a pretty solid final year of Junior along with Riley McKay, Trevor Mann & Connor Navrot.

For the Wolverines, they have been led mostly all year by 20 year old Johl Swedlo who has just simply produced in every game this season. The 23 goals, and 50 points is a career high for the Portage la Prairie, MB product and you know that he along with line-mate and fellow 20 year old Alex Keena will put their best effort forward to keep their last year of Junior continue as long as they can. The big surprise up front for the Wolverines this season has been year 1996-born Rhett Lough, who after just 6 points in a injury-shortened season last year, he broke out with 49 points this season and he alongside rookie Ty Enns have produced some chemistry and that line could be a huge factor to where this series goes.

On the backend, the Wolverines are definitely much younger than the Stamps blue-line but at times this season the likes of Riley Shamray, Kevin Takatch and company haven't showed that they are MJHL rookies as they have played very well. Meanwhile with the Wolverines being so young on the blue-line, they will need couple of those veterans like Kristjon Finnson and Nathan Peabody to chip in and show some experience.

For the Stamps, it'll be the final playoff run for Captain Gavin Froese who is in his 4th and final Jr. season will need to lead this Stamps back-end not only chipping in offensively like he has all season, but also on the defensive side of the puck as well. The likes of Jordie Valentino and Carter McMurdo will also need to help the Stamps get some offence from the back-end which Swan Valley will need.

Special teams in any playoff series is crucial, but it might be even more crucial in such a short series like this Best of 3 Survivor series is. Both Special teams from the either side have had their ups and downs this season, and whoever has the more ups in the special teams department will win this series.
