Stamps blanked 6-0 in Game 2 of Quarter-Final to Steinbach

The Swan Valley Stampeders are now in a 2-0 hole in their Best of 7 MJHL Quarter-Final after a 6-0 loss on the road to the Steinbach Pistons on Saturday night.

The Pistons controlled much of the 1st period here in Game 2 and they would get the only goal of the opening frame as after a flurry chances in front of the Stamps goal and it would finally be MacKenzie Graham would jam home his 2nd of the playoffs to make it a 1-0 Steinbach lead after 1 period and they also led heavily in the shot column with a 20-5 edge in opening 20 minutes.

In the 2nd, the Pistons powerplay would once again flex its muscle as they would score 3 more power play goals. First off just 56 seconds into the middle frame as Cole Smith would chip home his 2nd of the playoffs to make it 2-0. Then Robert Briem and MacKenzie Graham would add 2 more later goals on the man advantage to give themselves a 4-0 lead after 40 minutes. Shots 35-15 Pistons.

The Pistons would produce a couple more PP goals in the 3rd as Robert Briem would get his 2nd of the night after a nice feed in front while  McKenze Graham would deflect home and point shot and complete his 1st MJHL Hat Trick to give the Pistons their 2nd straight win, 6-0 over Swan Valley.

Roman Bengert stopped 24 shots for his 1st MJHL Playoff shutout while the Stamps split their goaltending duties as Zach Degraves played the first 40 minutes making 32 saves on 36 shots while Brett Evans played the last 20 and made 14 saves on 16 shots.

The series will now shift back to Swan River for Games 3 and 4 starting on Wednesday night at the Centennial Arena at 7:30
