Analysis:

This two teams, who both missed the postseason last year will meet for the first time since the La Ronge Ice Wolves beat the Terriers in 2011 Canalta Cup final to help them win their 2nd straight league title.

Both teams come in with not much of SJHL playoff experience and thats where the Terriers especially up front will need to continue to elevate their game.

The Terriers have 3 forwards in Kailum Gervais, Jordan Ross and Corwin Stevely who have played in some big playoff games and all played a part in the Terriers 2014 RBC Cup title and these guys would need to lead by example and continue their strong play and help out this young Terriers squad.

But along with those veterans, the likes of Carson and McKenzie Welke played lot of big games in their minor hockey days, but they will get their first taste from Junior Playoff action and the Terriers will need them to continue to chip in offensively as they have all season long.

For the Ice Wolves they have scored by committee up front all season long, but are led by Cole Porter who scored an impressive 28 goals this season and him long with the Blacquiere brothers if they are together can be a dangerous unit up front.

The likes of Matt Painchaud and Braden Jakubowski have really come on as of late as well, and they have the type of hard-nosed, gritty game that could excel in the postseason.

On the backend, I think the Terriers have the edge as Tyler Baier and Regan Seifering have been a big part of the Terriers offence from back-end and they are a big reason while the Terriers PP has been so good all season long as they have been able get pucks through from blue-line with ease and that needs to continue as special teams is always a big part of any playoff.
For the Ice Wolves, Bryce Fiske and Ryley McNeil have provided a bit of offence of the blue-line especially also when it comes to the PP.

In goal where a series can be won or lost, the Ice Wolves have one the league's best. The recently announced SJHL MVP Kris Joyce has proved the last couple years for La Ronge that he can put his team on his back and this year is no different as he has been outstanding with 0.931SV%. If the Ice Wolves want be successful in this series, Kris Joyce will need to be their best player.

For the Terriers, their goaltending has continually improved and the Terriers have the good problem of being able to counter with either of their 18 year olds in Jakob Severson or Matt Kustra and whoever Trent Cassan choses to get the nod will give the Terriers a very good chance to be successful in this survivor series.
