Mils' Aschim, Kehoe and Terriers' Thomson receive SJHL POW honours

SJHL Player of the Week: Mils #16 Sean AschimAschim scored three goals in a season opening blowout win over the Estevan Bruins on Thursday night. Acquired from Melfort in the summer of 2011, Aschim spent most of 2012 in the WHL and when he returned to Melville in January, he played through a serious injury. It’s believed he’s back to full health now.

SJHL Rookie of the Week: Mils #17 Rhett Kehoe
Kehoe was on a stacked Saskatoon Contacts team last year, so he flew under the radar when it was determined he would play junior in Melville. He’s on a very deep junior team now too, but he is still finding ways to produce.

SJHL Goalie of the Week: Terriers #30 Kale ThomsonThomson found himself on the shortest end of a three-goalie monster in Yorkton last year; however he’s the only one back this year and he has a real good chance to nab the starters role and not relinquish it. Despite his team being outshot on opening night, Thomson backstopped the Terriers to victory over Weyburn.

  1. Hey Benny....over the years....Craig Stein took some heat for favoring the Terriers because he lived in Yorkton. Just wait for the shots to start on how you favor the Mils because you are from Melville.
Can you get your blog attached to the Terriers site or is that not a call you can make?

    1. Come on now ......Stein always favored the Terriers ....Benny is fair to both teams. Grow up.

  5. Benny....I was the first post on this. I thought Craig Stein did a fabulous fair job and I think you have done a fantastic job so far as well. I was not asking to get your blog on the Terriers site for fairness...just for a convenience. However....during the past year...there were few disgruntled Mils fans posting garbage about how the Terriers were favored...so just was giving you a heads up that you might see it coming the other way.
