Mils lose 3-1 to the Wings for their First loss

After a two game sweep of the Estevan Bruins, the Melville Millionaires lost their first game of the season losing 3-1 at home to the Weyburn Red Wings.

Logan Skinner got the Weyburn Red Wings on the board at 17:23 of the 1st . Mils rookie defenseman Zack Simpson got his first SJHL goal just over a minute into the 2nd, ripping a wrist shot past Wings goalie Brett Teskey to make it 1-1. Skinner would get his 2nd of the night banging home a loose puck for his 2nd of the night to regain the Wings 1 goal lead. Wings forward Miguel Pereira would get the insurance marker at 17:20 into the 2nd.

The Mils didn't look like the club that won the first two as they came out flat, but give credit to Weyburn they played a really solid road hockey game.

MLV: Alex Wakaluk : 35 saves on 38 shots
WEY: Brett Teskey: 27 saves on 28 shots

The Mils next action is Friday night when they are in the Battlefords.
