Stamps fall in opener 5-2 against OCN

The Swan Valley Stampeders fell 3-0 early in the opening frame and won't able to come back as they dropped a 5-2 decision to the OCN Blizzard.

Dylan Favell and Max Flanagan got the goals for the Swan Valley Stampeders.

The two teams will finish off their ge and home set to start the season on Saturday night in Swan River.
Elsewhere, the Melville Millionaires got goals from Alex Elliot, Colin Mospanchuk, Ian McNulty and Rhett Kehoe as the Mils swept the home and home series with a 4-2 win over the Estevan
The Yorkton Terriers were able to take their season and home opener with a 3-1 victory over the Weyburn Red Wings. Taylor Thompson, Daylan Gatzke and Jeremy Johnson score for the Terriers. Kale Thomson stopped 31 of 32 for the victory
The Portage Terriers were able to hold off the Way Way Wolverines enough to defeat the Wolves on the road 3-2. Veterans Russell Turner and Brett Pinkerton with the markers for Way Way.

  1. Saw the highlights from the Terriers game and wow, there were some nice goals. Where were all the fans though? Nice to see 2,400 in Estevan (if that is true).

  2. Not even 1000 fans for the opener in Yorkton....pretty sad support from a city of 17000! If everyone that had an opinion on how the terriers could be run better, actually bought a ticket instead of whining and complaining, it would be sold out every night.
