Murray nets 2 to lead the Terriers past the Hounds

The Yorkton Terriers were able to snap their 2 game losing streak and improve their record to 26-8-2 on the season with a 5-3 victory over the Notre Dame Hounds in Wilcox.

It wasn't the start they wanted as the Hounds went up 1-0 just 39 seconds in as Catlin Foley would get the Hounds on the board and Notre Dame would be up a goal after 1 period of play.

But in the 2nd Devon McMullen would get the Terriers on the board just 37 seconds into the 2nd period as his shot went post and in to make it 1-1. The Terriers would get the next two goals to make it 3-1 as Dylan Baer would get his 1st and Jeremy Johnson his 17th to give the Terriers a 2 goal lead. The Hounds would cut it within 1 as Dion Antisin would get the 1st of 2 on the night to make it 3-2 Terriers after 40 minutes.

The Terriers would make it 4-2 when Nathan Murray would get goal number 11 for him. But the Hounds would answer back with just under 3 minutes left as Dion Antisin would get his 2nd of the night but Murray would ice it into the empty net for his 2nd of the game to give the Terriers a 5-3 win.

Kale Thomson would stop 20 of 23 shots for the win, while Ty Reichenbach stopped 28 shots but was tagged with the loss.

The Melville Millionaires won their 4th straight game as they defeated the Humboldt Broncos 3-2 in the shootout.

Russell Trudeau led the way with 1G 1A and the shootout winner while Ian McNulty would net the other goal. Alex Wakaluk was solid in goal stopping 48 of 50 shots for the win.

The Mils will return to action on Saturday when they host the Notre Dame Hounds 7:30 HCUC

The WayWay Wolverines got back on the winning track in a big way with a 7-2 victory over the Swan Valley Stampeders.

Brett Pinkerton (2), Russell Turner, Brendan Luchinski, Robert Briem, Drakwe Bodie and JJ Cruikshank scored their her Wolves goals while Max Flanagan and Richard Olson scored for the Stamps.

Cory Simons stopped 26 shots for the victory while Landon Noel stopped 22 of 28 shots and Nathan Armstrong stopped 4 of 5 shots in relief.

The Wolverines will return to action Wednesday when they visit the OCN Blizzard while for The Stamps they will visit the Virden Oil Capitals on Saturday night .

  1. There was a rumour floating around that drew czerwonka was coming to the Terriers. Guess its not happening as he was added to the U of R Cougars roster today.
