Mils fall in opener to Estevan

The Melville Millionaires fell in their season/home opener 4-2 to the visiting Estevan Bruins.

Tanner Froese got the Bruins on the board early with a 6:47 into period 1 to give the visitors a 1-0 lead. But the Mils would come back with 2 power play goals, one by veteran TJ Reeve while the other by rookie and Louisiana native Alex Devillier to give the Mils a 2-1 lead after 1.

The Bruins would even it up on the power play 2:34 into the 2nd when Froese would deflect home his 2nd of the night to even it at 2 after 40 minutes.

It would stay that way until the Bruins would cash again on the power play as Austin Daae would get his first of the season to give Estevan a 3-2 lead. Then late, while on the man advantage Darcy Deroose would ice it to give the Bruins a 4-2 victory.

Matt Gibney got the win in net while Isaiah Plett took the defeat in Mils' goal.

The rematch between these two teams will go Friday at Spectra Place in Estevan.

Meanwhile our next broadcast will be on Friday when Swan Valley opens up against Virden, pregame 7:20 MB, PXP 7:30 mb time on GX94.

While Yorkton will be in Weyburn Friday to open up their season.
