Terriers; Mils both lose on Wednesday Night

The Yorkton Terriers trying to build off their overtime win on Sunday night over Kindersley, weren't able to do quite that as they dropped a 6-3 decision to the Flin Flon Bombers on Wednesday night.

The Terriers came out to a quick start in the opening frame and they would be rewarded for their efforts as Brandon Sookro would open the scoring sneaking one through Simon Hofley for his 4th of the season to give the Terriers an early 1-0 lead. They would make it a 2 goal lead on the powerplay just under 4 minutes later as they Zack Zadorozniak (pictured above) gobbled up a rebound for his 3rd to give the Terriers a 2-0 lead after 1 period.

In the 2nd period it would be all Flin Flon Bombers, as they would score 4 unanswered goals led by Alex Smith with a pair, while Parker Evans-Campbell and Tyson Empey also chipped in with 2nd period goals to push the Bombers into the lead after 40 minutes at 4-2.

In the 3rd, it wouldn't take the Bombers long to hit the scoresheet again, Chris Rauckman would get his league leading 14th goal of the season to make it a 5-2 Flin Flon lead. The Terriers would make it interesting at the 7:07 mark of the last frame as Dylan Baer would snipe home his 3rd of the season to make it a 2 goal game. But Bomber Captain Dean Allison would ice it with an empty netter in the final 2 minutes to finalize the Bombers 6-3 victory at the FAA.

Simon Hofley made 30 saves for the win, while Terrier netminder Dawson MacAuley turned aside 29 shots in the loss.

The Terriers powerplay was 2 for 9 in the hockey game while the top ranked Flin Flon PP was 2/5.

The Terriers will continue their homestand on Friday when they host the La Ronge Ice Wolves from the FAA at 7:30.

**Sidenote: The 13/14 RBC Cup Champion Terrier players were presented with their championship rings before the hockey game.
