Frisco, Texas product Blake Welch (pictured above) threw 8 solid innings of 3 hit ball, while striking out 7 while Braden Alleman, Isaiah Snyder and Cameron Boudreaux all doubled to lead the Melville Millionaires to a 3-1 win over the visiting Yorkton Cardinals at Pirie Field.
Canora product and Cardinals starter Kody Rock was also solid in the loss carrying a perfect game into the Bottom of the 6th and ended up going 6 2/3 innings allowing 2 runs on 4 hits while striking out 6.
These two teams will play the back end of their season opening home and home series on Sunday night at Jubilee Park at 7:05.
