Wildcats; Rangers capture Saskatchewan Senior Hockey League titles

 


WADENA CAPTURES 2024 LONG LAKE HOCKEY LEAGUE TITLE 

Tyson Hobbins had the hat-trick while Travis Statchuk had 1G 2A to lead the Wadena Wilcats to a 6-3 win over the Wynyard Monarchs in the series clinching Game 4 of their Long Lake Hockey League Final on Friday night. 

Connor Odelein and Lyndon Lipinski also scored for the Wildcats while Jesse Forsberg, Drew Litwin and Max Gudnason replied for the Monarchs. 

The win was the first LLHL title in team history 






RANGERS SWEEP REDVERS TO BECOME BIG 6 HOCKEY LEAGUE CHAMPIONS

Josh Elmes powerplay goal with 5:28 remaining stood up to be the game winner to lead the Moosomin Rangers to a 5-3 road win over the defending champion Redvers Rockets to sweep their Best of 5 Finals series, 3-0. 

Rykr Cole scored twice while Bud Holloway and Carter Sawchuk each had 1G 2A to lead the way offensively for the Rangers who their first Big 6 title since 2004. 

Brady Fiderchuk, Kolytn Miller and Kenton Miller replied for the Rockets in the loss.
