Melville Millionaires; Swan Valley Stampeders victorious in Friday Preseason action



The Melville Millionaires secured their second preseason win on Friday night with a dominant 7-3 victory over the Yorkton Terriers at the CN Community Centre.

Cale Nachai led the offensive charge for the Millionaires with two goals, while defenseman Boston Harkness contributed three assists.

Caden Drury, Jadon Iyogun, Andrew Casellato, Simon Parini, and Cohen Swan also scored for the Mils, delighting over 650 fans in Rail City.

Jaron Desnoyers, Aidan Knutson, and Jeff Hammond responded for the Terriers, who suffered their first preseason defeat.

Both teams split their goaltending duties: Noah Davis started for the Mils, stopping all 14 shots he faced, while Carson Rennie allowed three goals on 13 shots in relief.

Callum Creig started in goal for Yorkton, conceding four goals on 18 shots before being relieved by Brandon product Kieran Madill, who saved 10 of 13 Millionaires' shots.

The two teams will conclude their preseason with the final match of the Highway 10 home-and-home series on Saturday night at the Westland Insurance Arena in Yorkton. Puck drop is set for 7:00 PM.

MJHL:


The Swan Valley Stampeders surged in the second period with four goals, securing a thrilling 5-4 victory over the Dauphin Kings in their MJHL Preseason finale. 

 Second-year defenceman Darren Hunt led the charge with two goals, while Bennett Muller contributed one goal and two assists to the win. 

Landen Gulutzan and Carter Nailan also found the back of the net for the Stampeders, who benefited from a stellar 39-save performance by netminder Elias Giaccari Dimitriou. 

For the visiting Kings, Kyan Grouette netted twice, and Cayden Glover along with Matthew Haun chipped in with single goals. 

 The Stampeders now turn their attention to their home and regular season opener next Friday night, where they'll host the Northern Manitoba Blizzard at Centennial Arena.
